What's next for downtown Auburn

The corner construction has ended and was celebrated with the “Come Home to the Corner” event, but what’s next for the corner. According to David Dorton, director of public affairs for the City of Auburn, an aspect of the project that has not been completed is the landscape.

UPDATED: Auburn man arrested and charged with several thefts

The Auburn Police Division arrested an Auburn man and charged him with three counts of third-degree burglary, three counts of auto theft, one count of first-degree theft of property, one count of second-degree theft of property and one count of third-degree theft of property.

Keep Auburn Lovely advocates for 'smart development'

As Auburn grows, new student housing pops up all over town, including in downtown Auburn. Some people are worried this new growth will change the small town feel of Auburn and transform it into something unrecognizable.  Keep Auburn Lovely  is a grassroots group of concerned citizens who are worried about the type of development in Auburn, especially downtown.

University stands behind gun policy

The current weapons policy, which can be found under “University policies” on Auburn’s website, “prohibits the possession and use of any dangerous or potentially dangerous weapon or instrument(s) ... on all University properties, with limited exceptions.”

Safe Harbor adds 24-hour helpline

Auburn University’s Safe Harbor now has their helpline available for 24 hours. According to Rachel Jones, the program coordinator, the Safe Harbor program is an advocacy program housed in the Office of Health Promotion and Wellness Services.
