No, Chick-fil-A will not be open 24 hours

A technical glitch on the Chick-fil-A website led many in Auburn to think the Magnolia Avenue location would be reopening to serve customers 24 hours a day.  Bob McFadden, store owner, has confirmed that the location will continue to serve customers during the normal hours of business. 

EAMC breaks ground on new Cancer Center in Opelika

With glittery gold Sharpies, Auburn and Opelika medical professionals, public officials and community members signed their names on a large white beam that will help to hold up the new Cancer Center of East Alabama.  The new Cancer Center is being built on a plot of 15.66 acres of land and will be two floors, measuring up to a total of 59,596 square feet.

Fresh Air Market helps raise money for Girl's Ranch

The two-day market is a fundraising opportunity for the Alabama Sheriff Girl's Ranch. Chewacla State Park, The Auburn and Opelika Tourism Bureau, and the Alabama Sheriff Girl’s Ranch organized the market.

Watercolor exhibit opens at Jule Collins Smith Museum

The solid white walls of the Jules Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art are filled with watercolor paintings as the museum welcomed the 77th National Annual Watercolor Society of Alabama Exhibition Sunday to be the museum’s rotating exhibit. The Watercolor Society of Alabama, WSA, sponsored the exhibit. WSA began in 1939 and is one of the oldest major watercolor organizations in America.

Auburn named to Military Friendly School list with bronze ranking

Auburn University has exceeded standards in all categories of critique by Military Friendly, an organization that promotes veteran success, placing the University on the  2018-2019 Military Friendly list. Auburn is ranked bronze, meaning the University has programs that scored within 40 percent of the 10th-ranked institution within the given category.  The list will be published in the May issue of the G.I.
