In the second game in its series against Missouri, Auburn came out on top with a 3-0 victory behind the arm of Richard Fitts on Friday. The Tigers also earned the No. 12 seed in the SEC Tournament with Texas A&M's loss.

Auburn has added a member of the SEC’s All-Freshman Team to its roster as former Georgia guard K.D. Johnson committed to the Tigers on Wednesday. Johnson is the fifth transfer to commit to Auburn this offseason and is the fourth transfer guard.

In Auburn's 14-6 win over UNA, Rankin Woley led the way as he ended his time at Plainsman Park with a career-high five RBIs. “The last three weeks if you really look at [Woley’s] at-bats, it’s been pretty impressive,” Thompson said.
Auburn softball is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the 16th time in program history. The Tigers were selected as the No. 2 seed in the Tallahassee Regional on Sunday. Auburn will face UCF Friday at 1 p.m. CST with the game airing on ESPN2.
“It was amazing what Trace Bright, Joseph Gonzales, and Carson Skipper did,” Thompson said. “If we had gotten past those guys, we were going to be looking at guys’ third outing since Wednesday. I tip my hat for what these three men did for us today.”
With the loss, Auburn falls to 21-25 overall on the season. The Tigers are 7-19 in SEC play and are a game behind Texas A&M for 12th place in the SEC and a spot in the SEC Tournament.
After taking a 3-1 lead in the third inning, Texas A&M was held scoreless until the ninth as Auburn rallied to defeat the Aggies 5-4 Friday at Plainsman Park. “It was a big win and hopefully we’re going to keep that momentum for tomorrow," Woley said.
Auburn is adding a veteran player to its secondary as transfer defensive back Bydarrius Knighten committed on Friday.
“I don’t have any words to describe this feeling,” Telfer said. “We had to wait a long time before we knew the result. This is obviously what we came to Auburn for, and we didn’t want to end our season at regionals.”
After seeing a few players enter the transfer portal this offseason, Auburn received some good news on Wednesday as they picked up a commitment from transfer defensive tackle Tony Fair.
“The story tonight and of these last two games is just our at-bats have deteriorated,” said head coach Butch Thompson. “I think that’s the biggest thing I look at tonight. That really has my undivided attention heading into this critical series against Texas A&M.”
Auburn's time in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was not long as the 12th-seeded Tigers dropped Tuesday's SEC Tournament opener against 13-seed South Carolina 3-1.
“Our guys just keep competing,” said head coach Butch Thompson. “They keep on sticking together and they find themselves in a ballgame. It’s been the most unexplainable year I’ve seen, but they’ve had resilience, stayed together and keep finding a way.
