The Plainsman's three sports writers took the bye week as a chance to evaluate the team after four games. At 1-3 following the 12-10 loss to LSU Sept. 22, the team had the weekend off to rest and continue to prepare for Arkansas on Oct. 6 at 11 a.m.

Quan Bray arrested for violating driving permit

Sophomore wide receiver Quan Bray was arrested last night in Carrollton, Ga., for violating his driving permit.He was also charged for loud music and possession of an open bottle of alcohol, Captain Swain Harris of the University of West Georgia Police Department.

Auburn's last minute drive to steal a miracle upset ended with a fourth-down interception by LSU cornerback Tharold Simon to seal the No. 2 Bayou Bengals' 12-10 victory at Jordan-Hare Stadium.The loss marks the first time in Auburn football history that a team has lost three games in September."We didn't finish, but there will be a day when we will," said coach Gene Chizik. "We'll continue to grind and work till we can."

Gold medalist McGill named volunteer swim coach, trains for 2016 Olympics

Former Auburn swimmer Tyler McGill was named volunteer assistant on Sept. 5. McGill was a part of Team USA along with Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte in the 2012 London Olympics. McGill agreed to sit down with The Plainsman and discuss his future in the Olympics and as volunteer assistant for the Tigers.
