the 2018 Writing Across the Curriculum Conference

An annual writing conference will finally place at Auburn University in 2018. The dates are set for June 4 to June 6.   Auburn was selected in May to host the 2018 international Writing Across the Curriculum Conference. The theme for conference is "Connections" and how people are helping students learn to write in different disciplines.

Walmart's Resolution

on May 18, the East Alabama Food Bank acknowledged the donations and works of Walmart with a resolution.Since 2000, the Walmart Distribution Center a counts for nearly 50 percent of the food bank's inventory. They also donated a trailer for extra space, give grants and one of their staff serves on the board of directors for the food bank.

An owner's emotional farewell to Mike and Ed's BBQ

J.P Lemay, the former owner of Mike and Ed's sells the business after 16 years of owning and 30 years of working there. Her last day was May 3 after training the new owner. John Hammer took on the franchise in March and is currently learning more about the business and hoping to keep the business successful. Lemay hopes the good name stands.
