Montgomery man arrested for Auburn robbery

The Auburn Police Division arrested Larry Keyun Chappell, a suspect in an Auburn robbery.

Chappel, 30, from Montgomery, was arrested June 27 on a felony warrant charging him with 1st degree robbery.

The Auburn Police received a report June 11, 2016, of a robbery that occurred at the 4000 block of South College Street. Two individuals were reported in the case. Police said they entered a business at the 4000 block of South College Street.

Police said the men then brandished weapons and demanded money from the register. The report did not list an amount but said money was taken. However, no injuries were reported.

Chappell was later listed as a suspect in the case, and a warrant for his arrest was obtained. He was taken into custody by the Auburn Police in his residence in Montgomery.

The U.S. Marshals assisted with the arrest.

Chappell is being held at the Lee County Jail on a $100,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing, police said, and additional arrests should be anticipated.
