The Auburn volleyball team defeated Mississippi State 3-1 (25-21, 25-16, 18-25, 25-23) on the road Friday night.
The first road win of the season for the Tigers snapped their five-match losing streak in the SEC. Auburn (10-12, 2-7 SEC) took the Bulldogs (6-20, 1-10 SEC) in four sets.
Freshman Courtney Crable led the way with a career-high 16 kills, while sophomore Emily Klitzke was not far behind with 15.
A big return from freshman Macy Reese, who finished the night with 13 kills, helped get the Tigers' offense going in a fourth set battle.
Sophomore Stephanie Campbell finished with the highest hitting percentage (.588) in a four-set match an Auburn player has recorded this season.
Alexa Filley did what she does best, spread the ball around. The freshman's 49 assists on the night put her in second place in school history.
Alyssa Ivey recorded a team-high 17 digs.
The Tigers played strong defense at the net, and finished with 10 blocks contributed by Campbell, Klitzke and sophomore Breanna Barksdale.
Auburn will wrap up its weekend slate against Georgia at 12:30 on the SEC Network.
