No. 11 Auburn women’s tennis closed its first SEC match of the season with a 4-1 loss at No. 3 Georgia.
Duo Pleun Burgmans and Alizee Michaud notched a 6-2 victory for the Tigers over Ellen Perez and Mariana Gould in doubles. Burgmans now sits at 98 career doubles victories.
Auburn lost the doubles point after falling on courts two and three.
Michaud improved to 12-0 (3-0) in the dual-match season with a 6-3, 6-3, over Georgia’s No. 22 Caroine Brinson. Burgmans dropped her first dual-match of the season with a 6-4, 6-3 loss to No. 78 Kennedy Shaffer.
Auburn will return to action when it travels to face No. 60 Missouri on Friday and then face No. 33 Arkansas in Fayetteville.
