Five Auburn softball players earn NFCA

Auburn softball's Emily Carosone, Kasey Cooper, Tiffany Howard, Carlee Wallace and Jade Rhodes were each named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region teams, the organization announced Thursday.

Forty-eight student-athletes from the Southeastern Conference have received 2016 NFCA Division I All-Region awards. The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s 10 regions with first-, second- and third-team selections. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams. The honorees are eligible for selection to the 2016 NFCA Division I All-American squads.

The Tigers were named to two Southeast Region teams:

First Team

Second Base - Emily Carosone

Third Base - Kasey Cooper

Outfield - Tiffany Howard

Second Team

Catcher - Carlee Wallace

First Base - Jade Rhodes

The 2016 NFCA Division I All-America teams will be announced at approximately 5 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, June 1, via NFCA.org.
