If you are thinking about beginning your wellness journey at the Rec, don’t be afraid to ask the student workers for help or tips. You may have to try different machines or exercises until you find the right fit for you, and that’s perfectly normal. If you are planning to go as soon as you are back in Auburn just know that the Rec will be busier than normal for a few weeks. Many students always start off the semester strong by working out often, but that number tends to taper off as the semester gets busier. Especially with so many New Year’s resolutions being to workout more, the attendance at the Rec will increase and if you are prepared for the crowds, then you will be able to have the same experience you would have any other time.
Working out is not always a top priority for college students, which is understandable since many students are not able to afford a gym membership. The Rec is a place to grow yourself and is an affordable and great option to become a better Auburn man or woman. As the Auburn creed states, “I believe in a sound mind, in a sound body” which shows that we should take care of ourselves both physically and mentally. Basically, whether you have just recently committed to working out more or you are a life-long gym go-er, the campus Rec is the place for you. College is a great place to begin establishing healthy habits that you will carry
