At the beginning of each school year, it can take time to readjust to life in Auburn. While the majority of students are back at home completing internships or studying abroad over the summer, feeling out of the loop come August seems inevitable.

Instagram can be a guide to life on and off campus this school year. While almost every student organization and local business has an account, here are the best ones to follow to stay in the know about all things Auburn:

@auburnupc

For those who want to get more involved on Auburn’s campus, look no further than University Program Council’s Instagram feed. Auburn student and marketing manager for UPC, Anthony Tacheny, runs this account and described the feed as friendly and fun with brighter photos that resemble the good times they have at their events. He encouraged students to follow the account and attend UPC events because it’s a good way to meet people and get involved.

@auburncampusrec

Regulars at the Auburn University Campus Recreation and Wellness Center will appreciate the fitness inspiration, GroupFit class information, event coverage and more that this feed has to offer. The account is equal parts informational and inspirational, and it aims to give students a daily reminder to visit the gym.

@auburnopelika

The Instagram account for the Auburn-Opelika Tourism Bureau features places, events and food in Auburn or Opelika, according to the bureau’s communications specialist, Cat Bobo. There are ticket giveaways, hidden gems and local photography that Auburn-Opelika’s official account has to offer. If you’re hosting an out-of-towner soon, @auburnopelika helps narrow down all the best local spots to show your guest.

@downtownauburn

This is another social media staple for students looking to support local businesses. The official Instagram account of downtown Auburn’s merchants spotlights events, sales and specials you won’t want to miss.

@auburnpulse

The Auburn Pulse account, self-proclaimed social heartbeat of Auburn, is another account to follow when looking to stay current on all the social events happening in town. This account’s feed is a smorgasbord of all things downtown Auburn, from drink specials to live music to must-try dishes.

@autigerdining

This account is for students at a loss for how to spend TigerCard money. Tiger Dining’s account is a one-stop shop for food truck locations, can’t-miss menu items and new campus dining locations.

@wardamnyum

J.T. Wood started this account his junior year at Auburn and often features his own food photography. Wood’s company, Delray Digital, runs social media accounts for 23 restaurants in the Auburn area, and this feed’s content typically revolves around Wood’s clients. According to Wood, Auburn students should follow the account because it highlights some of the best day-to-day food options students have at their disposal.
