Upcoming election deadlines, absentee ballot applications due

After the primary election in May, the Republican primary winner for the District 27 senate race could be decided by a coin toss. 

The runoff election for five spots on the Auburn City Council will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018. Voter registration has ended, but absentee ballot applications are due Oct. 4. 

Voters can pick up applications for absentee ballots from City Hall. These ballots must be postmarker no later than Oct. 8. Hand-delivered ballots must be turned in at City Hall by 5 p.m. on the day before the election. 

Business emergency or medical emergency applications may be made after the absentee deadline but no later than 5 p.m. on Oct. 8. 

Polling venues will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. All those in Ward 2 will now vote at the Boykin Center rather than the National Guard Armory.
