New senior administrators Steve Pelham and Joffrey Gaymon will lead priorities in economic development, enrollment and student recruitment at Auburn University.

“Steve and Joffery will play key leadership roles as we focus on becoming one of the premier public universities in the nation,” said Auburn President Steven Leath. “Their combined expertise is a powerful asset that strengthens our unwavering commitment to excellence in scholarship, research and outreach.”

Pelham, appointed chief of staff and vice president for economic development, graduated from Auburn University in 1979 and recently served as chief of staff to Gov. Kay Ivey.

In 2001, Pelham was appointed by President George W. Bush as the Alabama state director for USDA’s rural development agency.

Gaymon, appointed vice president of enrollment, has worked in university enrollment and student recruitment at Georgia College and State University, University of South Carolina, Beaufort and University of West Florida.

“Steve and Joffery distinguished themselves in our interview process through their experience and skills but also with their enthusiasm for serving the Auburn Family and the people of our State,” Leath said. “They are excellent additions to an already strong leadership team.”

Pelham will begin working on Feb. 1, 2019, and Gaymon will begin on March 4, 2019.
