Auburn is keeping it in the family.

The Tigers' 2019 class received a familiar name Tuesday afternoon when Kameron Brown, a three-star linebacker out of Lanier (Buford, Ga.) committed to Auburn. He's the younger brother of Derrick Brown, Auburn's star defensive tackle who projected as a top-15 pick in April's draft before deciding to return for his senior year.

Kameron Brown may have been a factor in his older brother's decision. Gus Malzahn offered the linebacker two days before Derrick Brown made his NFL decision.

The commitment comes two days after Kameron Brown's official visit to Auburn.

“Just the family," Kameron Brown said of what he likes about Auburn. "It’s all about family around here. Coach Steele, like he said, he’s not going to sugarcoat nothing. He told me it’s all business when you come in. Then he said there’s still going to be a loving part, but got to take care (of business).”

Kameron Brown adds to the future of Auburn's linebacking corps that graduated all three senior starters this year in Deshaun Davis, Montavious Atkinson and Darrell Williams. However, Kameron Brown had been projected by some to play H-back or another position with the Tigers.

But on his visit, Kameron Brown said he spent most of his time with Travis Williams, Auburn's linebackers coach, and Kevin Steele, Auburn's defensive coordinator.

"I already told them I'll do anything to get on the field," Kameron Brown said.

Kameron Brown becomes the 19th Tiger in Auburn's 2019 class. He joins recent commit Jay Jay Wilson, an H-back grad transfer from Arizona State, and George Pickens, a top-15 player in the nation at receiver, as the only members of the class yet to sign. National Signing Day is Feb. 6.

“That would be good," Kameron Brown said of the opportunity to play with his brother next season. "Like, playing with him in high school for a few plays to playing with him now on this big of a level, it’s just — I’m blessed.”
