A familiar name will be back on Auburn’s campus. Cam Newton’s younger brother, Caylin, will be transferring to Auburn.
Caylin played quarterback for three years at Howard and will be a grad transfer, announcing his decision on social media on Friday night.
In his junior year, Caylin played in four games at Howard before deciding to enter the transfer portal and will have two years of eligibility left.
Cam played one season at Auburn, winning the Heisman Trophy and leading Auburn to a BCS National Championship.
In 2018, Caylin was awarded the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Caylin passed for 2,610 yards and 22 touchdowns but threw 17 interceptions. On the ground, Caylin rushed for 555 yards and four touchdowns.
While Cam is listed at 6-foot-5, 245-pounds; Caylin is smaller, listed at 6-foot, 195-pounds.
Recently Caylin has been posting videos on Instagram of him working out as a wide receiver.
His role at Auburn is unknown.
According to Jeffrey Lee of Rivals, Caylin will be a preferred walk-on.
