After losing Arryn Siposs to the NFL draft, Auburn has found his replacement in a similar spot.
Oscar Chapman, from the same Prokick Australia program as Siposs, announced his decision to accept a blue shirt scholarship on Tuesday.
He committed to the Tigers with a blue shirt, essentially meaning he’ll receive his scholarship at the start of practice when he arrives on campus.
The Prokick program is designed to help Australian kickers adapt their game to that more suited for college football and the NFL.
Prior to Chapman’s commitment, Auburn’s only player with punting experience was quarterback Bo Nix, who pooch-punted three times during his freshman season.
Outside of Nix Auburn has walk-ons Patrick Markwalter and Evan McGuire on the roster as potential competition for Chapman.
