Auburn dominated at home, leading from start to finish in a 3-0 win that moved the team to 4-1 on the season.

The Tigers played well in all facets Friday night, winning their fourth straight match. They started strong with a 25-18 win in the first set, then took the next two 25-21 and 25-14. It was an all-around team effort at Neville Arena.

Four Tigers in particular had spectacular games. Lauren Dreves had 12 kills, her fifth straight match with double-digit kills. Joining her was Liz Markovska, who recorded 11 kills, her third match with double-digit kills this season.

Along with this, BYU transfer Eden Bowers and Grace Havlicek had career nights in the clean-sweep win. Bowers recorded a career-high six blocks for the Tigers, while the big story of the night was Havlicek’s five aces, a career best. Both players had phenomenal days in a strong team win.

The Tigers also held Jackson State to a .153 hitting percentage, marking the third time this season they have held an opponent below .200.

Even though Jackson State is winless on the year they have battled in some tough matches versus good opponents. Auburn has played a bunch of games in the last week and are ready for a short break according to head coach Brent Crouch.

Even though Jackson State is winless on the year, they have battled in some tough matches against strong opponents. Auburn has played several games in the past week and is ready for a short break, according to head coach Brent Crouch.

“Playing five matches in eight days is no small feat," Crouch said. "Jackson State is a tough, scrappy team who provided some unique challenges. Very proud of how hard the team worked this week. We’ll have a couple of days’ rest before we get going again next week. Virginia and Florida State will be difficult matches, but we’ll be ready.”

The Tigers have a big week ahead with two huge matchups: versus Virginia on Tuesday and Florida State on Friday. Both games will be at home in Neville Arena on SEC Network+.
