The newest baseball craze is headed to The Plains. Auburn baseball will host the Banana Ball All-Stars in a fall exhibition game Saturday, Oct. 25, at 7:00 p.m. CST at Plainsman Park.

“We’re excited to bring Banana Ball to Plainsman Park, creating a great opportunity and experience for both our players and our fans,” said head coach Butch Thompson. “This is currently one of the hottest tickets in baseball, and it should be a great night on The Plains.”

The Savannah Bananas are the hottest thing in the baseball world. The Bananas, created by Jesse Cole, aren’t your normal baseball team. Cole believed that baseball was boring, so he decided to change everything.

Banana Ball has its own set of rules that make the game more fast-paced and keep the crowd engaged for the game’s entirety. One example of a Banana Ball rule is that when a foul ball is caught by a fan, it counts as an out.

But it isn’t just the rules that set the Bananas apart. They also perform choreographed dances throughout the game, which helps them go viral on social media and gain popularity.

This summer, the viral sensations sold out iconic baseball stadiums such as Fenway Park and Camden Yards — and they didn’t stop there. On April 26, 2025, the Bananas packed in more than 80,000 fans at Clemson’s Memorial Stadium.

The two teams will play under Banana Ball rules next month, and the game will be available to stream for free on the Bananas’ YouTube channel.

“Tickets for the matchup will go on sale at a later date, with the Savannah Bananas exclusively managing all general admission and standard reserved ticket inventory – these tickets will not be available to the general public,” per the release. “Auburn baseball will manage the sale of all parking as well as premium ticketing inventory within Plainsman Park. The right field Back Forty Terrace at Plainsman Park, presented by the Auburn University Bookstore, will be available for Auburn students, with more details to come.”
