On Aug. 26, 1920, women won the right to vote. The constitutional amendment granting women this right was the result of years of hard work by brave, dedicated, informed women who refused to accept as fate the status quo. We should use this occasion to recommit to actively shaping our government and our country's future. The need for an informed, engaged citizenry has never been greater.
With all the media hype about whether Obama is Muslim, check out how our "President" has appointed not one, but two Muslims to Homeland Security. (Verification: http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/dhs.asp)
On August 26th, 2010 the world celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Blessed Teresa of Kolkata (Calcutta). I regret to inform you that my vote for the new Student Activity Center is in no way "yes." If there are so many students using the current Student Act at localized times of the day then may the authorities consider extending the operating hours. Also which facilities of the current Act are used extensively? After reading The Plainsman, it appears my understanding was the exercise equipment is under the most demand.
My roommate and I just got kicked out of a bar--one that is very popular here in downtown Auburn. This has been a long standing issue that has affected a significant population of the Auburn student body.
The Eucharist is a Christian sacrament or ordinance, generally considered to be a commemoration of the Last Supper, the final meal that Jesus Christ shared with his disciples before his arrest and eventual crucifixion.
I was glad to see the staff columns addressing under- age drinking, how to care for drunk people and drunk driving issues.
While I agree with your overall condemnation of the bill, I can not help but to point out the problems in the article that are simply untrue. In a time that has become bi-partisan as we have found ourselves in, it seems we should pay extra attention to the details in spelling out an opinion.
Now that the Senate version of ObamaCare is moments from becoming the law of the land, we need strategies to safeguard the doctor-patient relationship from government intrusion.
In response to the letter by Brent Culver in the Feb. 25th publication of The Auburn Plainsman, Auburn University College Republicans would like to clarify our position on several key issues concerning the 2010 elections.
