Max Zinner, graduate school senator, presented a bill to the senators on Monday Oct. 29 at SGA Senate that would allow campaigning students to visit student organizations a week before formal campaigning began.
“I saw this as a chance to really better someone else’s life as well as gain practical construction skills," said Fox Carlson, senior in architecture. "Even though Michelle got a new house, I felt pretty lucky to be a part of it.”
Many look up to Miss AU, and Lauren Bradford said she plans to make it her mission to connect with people. Her platform relates to the overuse of technology. She has found a passion in encouraging people of all ages to put down their phones and computers and make connections.
New York Times photographer, Chester Higgins, will be presenting a free lecture titled “Expressions of the Soul: Authentic Southern Images Embody the African Diaspora” on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Pebble Hill.
Students don’t need any prior experience nor own their own ukulele to join the club, as they have loaners for beginner members. Accord said half the members who join have never picked up the instrument before, but by the third practice, they’re able to play the song they learned at the first meeting.
Using data gathered from the Auburn University Office of Institutional Research, approximately 15 percent of degrees in computer science, software engineering and wireless software engineering were earned by women during the 2017-2018 academic year.
"I found that in fencing, people challenge my existence in the sport," Muhammad said. "As a religious minority and an ethnic minority in a very white sport, there was a lot of pushback."
With four university degrees and a successful past in the world of media, Joan Harrell has been chosen as Auburn University's first Diversity Coordinator.
“Just by working hard at something I loved, writing and storytelling, by passionately pursuing an activity I loved I was able to establish some credentials that opened a few extra professional doors for me and strengthened a skillset that would benefit me down the road although in ways I did not imagine at the time,” Waller said.
A study conducted by the Alabama Department of Public Health did not find rates of cancer higher than the number of cases that would be expected. But local survivors say they are not giving up their efforts.
“Some areas I felt like should have been covered a little bit more,” Mills said. “But they did a good job of covering things at the very topical level. I do think they could have gone a little more in-depth. I think it was because of their age or experience or what not.”
“I’ve never been big into improv, but after this, I’ll definitely have to look more into it,” Carter said.
Auburn University Dance Marathon will host their FT5K Color Run this Saturday, Oct. 27, at 10 a.m. The race will begin and end at the campus green space.
“A lot of the time, the individuals in this room end up running for major candidates — major and minor candidates,” Block said.
“Everybody struggles with some amount of anxiety at some time,” Mercer said. “Whether it’s about tests or relationships or making new friends or anything like that.”
“I think it’s really important to try and show a real-world example of what companies do for cyber security,” Vanrell said. “Instead of being like, ‘Oh, hypothetically, this is what you are supposed to do.’”
Auburn’s College of Architecture, Design and Construction and College of Human Sciences have both been recognized in DesignIntelligence Magazine’s 2018 survey in a variety of categories.
"Each person has different hobbies and skill sets, and I think people get really excited when they find other people with similar interests,” Swanson said. "CBC is important, because like every organization at Auburn its a venue for people to be creative, work toward something they enjoy, and share that experience with others.”
Tiger Dining wanted to find a way where students could order a meal while in class, then pick it up on their way to their next class, something that was difficult until Tapingo came into the picture.
