Auburn gymnastics is seeded sixth heading into the SEC Championship. The competition will take place in Huntsville, Alabama, on March 20. The Tigers will compete in the second section which begins at 2:30 p.m. CST on SEC Network.
In Auburn's 3-0 win over Troy on Wednesday night, the Tigers were led at the plate by Makenna Dowell. Dowell was 2-for-2 on the night with a home run, two RBI and a pair of walks.
Joseph Gonzalez and Hayden Mullins pitched the Tigers to a 6-5 victory over in-state opponent UAB on Tuesday, with all 27 outs split between the two young pitchers.

"The pitching is such a big piece," said head coach Butch Thompson. "That's where most of your scholarships are. That's where games are won and lost. The ability to pitch and finish would have capped off what was a pretty solid ball game we played there until right there at the end. Because it's not like we kicked the ball to give it away. They absolutely hit the ball."
The Tigers ended the Auburn Invitational on Saturday with a pair of wins over Southeastern Louisiana to go 5-0 on the weekend. “Sometimes you’ve got to get your team’s attention, and they turned it on and they didn’t let off the gas pedal,” said head coach Mickey Dean. “We just battle.”
“I was really proud of our team today,” Auburn head coach Karen Hoppa said. “We executed our game plan. I thought we did a great job disrupting Clemson, and we created a ton of chances. We just couldn’t find the back of the net.”
After dropping the series opener, Auburn blew out Boston College 16-1 on Saturday. The game quickly titled in favor of the home team when Eagles' pitcher Emmet Sheehan walked three straight batters, followed by a Cam Hill grand slam.
On Saturday, Auburn took care of business against Mississippi State for a 78-71 win over the Bulldogs. The victory was head coach Bruce Pearl’s 600th win as a head coach. “I’m truly grateful, Pearl said. “Humbled, blessed -- God has blessed me beyond what I deserve. But I keep score, I do. And 600 is a big number. 700 would be even better.”
No. 12 Auburn produced another season-best in its season finale loss to No. 8 Arkansas, 197.425-197.125. “I think we proved we’re a top-10 team and we can compete with anybody in the country,” Graba said. “We’re the youngest team in the country and we’ve had the toughest schedule in the country."
Auburn basketball's season comes to a close Saturday as Mississippi State travels to Auburn Arena in a game originally delayed due to severe winter weather.
The Tigers continued their winning ways at Jane B. Moore Field on Friday in their doubleheader against Southern Miss. Auburn won both games in the series and improved to 13-1 on the season with an 11-0 record at home.

Behind an eight-run outing and another strong pitching performance from Auburn’s freshman duo, the Tigers defeated Troy 8-1 on Thursday night. “I think everyone really came together in this game,” Dowell said. “We had people off the bench come in and do their job. It’s really awesome to see all of us work together offensively.”
The Auburn pitching staff, led by Maddie Penta and Shelby Lowe, is looking to continue its early-season dominance in the Auburn Invitational.
