After a 4-1 Auburn win over the Gators Thursday, May 14, the Tigers fell to Florida 4-3 in game two of the weekend series in Gainesville, Florida. The Tigers were quick to put runs on the board, starting in the second inning with junior Jordan Ebert’s sac-fly. Soon after, Auburn made it 2-0 with a sacrifice grounder from junior Cody Nulph. Junior Alex Polston stretched the lead to three runs, crossing home plate with a Melvin Gray single. The Tigers scored all their runs in the second inning, while the Gators were able to tie the game later on in the fourth with four hits from Richie Martin, Josh Tobias and Peter Alonso, who delivered the sac-fly to bring in the winning run of the game.
Auburn Softball defeated the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles in a come from behind win Friday, May 15, in its first NCAA Tournament game. The Tigers didn’t let the 2 hour, 15 minute weather delay affect their momentum following their first ever SEC Tournament win with 4 runs and 4 hits.
Auburn track and field recorded two top-5 finishes on Thursday in the first round competition at the SEC Championships in Starkville, Mississippi. Sophomore Veronica Eder finished fourth in the women’s 10,000 meters at 35:17.49, when she overcame losing her right shoe midway through the race.
Auburn men's basketball will host Oklahoma State on Jan. 30, 2016, at Auburn Arena as part of the 2016 Big 12/SEC Challenge, according to a press release issued by ESPN. Auburn will participate in the challenge for the third straight season. Auburn has previously traveled to Iowa State (2013-14) and Texas Tech (2014-15). This is the first time the challenge will be in Auburn. This will be the fourth meeting for Auburn and Oklahoma State, with Auburn leading 2-1 in the series. The teams first met in 1977 in Huntsville, and then in 1999 in Indianapolis in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.

Junior All-SEC Michael Johnson led the Tigers with a 2-under 69 and is tied for 13th. Sophomores in All-SEC Matt Gilchrest and Ryan Benton are tied for 21st at 1-under 70. Gilchrest fired a 4-under 32 on the back nine while Benton was 3-under on the front nine.
Florida was able to grab the first run of the game off Dalton Guthrie’s RBI single in the bottom of the fifth, but the Gator’s lead didn’t last long when Melvin Gray hit a double to center to bring in two in the sixth.

Bowers was forced to sit out the final Auburn appearance in this year’s SEC Men's Basketball Tournament, where the Tigers were stomped by the Kentucky Wildcats to close out their season, 91-67.
Women’s sports have certainly carried the banner for Auburn athletics in 2015. From gymnastics’ run to the Super Six to SEC-Champion softball’s ongoing run at history, two smaller-size sports have provided bright spots while bigger money sports have been a bit disappointing.

Bouncing back from a rough weekend against rival Alabama, the Tigers finished on a high note, despite coach Sunny Golloway's concerns about Morehead’s hitting ability. Auburn women's tennis player Jen Pfeifler was awarded the Internation Tennis Association Cissie Leary Award for Sportsmanship on Tuesday, May 12. The award marks the second year an Auburn player won the award after Jackie Kasler won last season. Pfeifler, a Gulf Breeze, Florida native, is one of 10 players in the country to win this award, and with it comes a nomination for the ITA Division 1 National Awards, which will be announced next Tuesday, May 19.

“I don’t see a whole lot of leadership on the infield,” Golloway said. “We were out of position on some bunt defense and were surprised by the delayed steal.”
