From increasing the accessibility of campus from far away parking to adding new technology, Andrae said Parking Services is keeping the students' needs first.
The city decided to test a valet service for the attendees of the Summernight Downtown Art Walk. It was so successful that a year-long contract to keep the valet service going was passed.
Hundreds of locals showed up for Opelika's Sportsplex Kids Triathlon. Groups of children ages 6-15 all competed at different times and distances in each event.
"The council for the last several years has understood that parking is an issue in downtown. Our citizen survey has shown that citizens want more parking downtown," Buston said.
