Auburn is looking to make some adjustments after a 2-1 weekend in the Osprey/Dolphin Invitational. “It’s nice to win some ballgames here in the last couple of weeks knowing you’re not playing your best ball yet," Dean said.
On Sunday, Auburn scored four unanswered runs, but ultimately fell 6-5 to No. 19 South Carolina in the final game of the Dolphin/Osprey Invitational. "We kind of gave it away in the first four innings," said head coach Mickey Dean.
On Saturday, Auburn had its first showdown with SEC competition this season in a 5-4 win over No. 19 South Carolina. In Auburn's second game of the day, the Tigers defeated Jacksonville 5-1.
The Tigers will have to wait another day to play as Friday’s softball games in the Osprey/Dolphin Invitational have been canceled due to heavy rain in Jacksonville.
Auburn softball is traveling to Jacksonville, Florida, for the Osprey/Dolphin Invitation on Friday and Saturday. The invitational includes Jacksonville University, University of North Florida and No. 19 South Carolina.
On Monday, Auburn pitcher Maddie Penta was named SEC co-Freshman of the Week after pitching a no-hitter Saturday and striking out 13 over her two starts.

Though the season doesn’t start until Feb. 12, Auburn softball will look to improve after being picked to finish 11th in the preseason coaches poll.
The SEC announced on Friday its conference schedule for the upcoming 2021 softball season. Auburn will open up conference play on Friday, March 12, against Alabama at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn.
