Tigers fall as Harrell shines

It was all KT Harrell in Auburn Arena Friday, and that wasn't enough to give Auburn the win. In a 58-54 loss to Coastal Carolina, the senior guard finished with nearly half of Auburn's points, putting up 25. On the night, Harrell was 8-15 shooting, including seven threes on eight attempts.

"I really don't think we were taking our time," head coach Terri Williams-Flournoy said. "I thought we were settling for outside shots too much. We had to get in the paint a little more, get a little more high percentage shots. It's hard because when you see zone, everybody thinks they should just shoot the ball from the outside."

Tigers eager for return of injured shooting guard

"We've played 80 percent of our season without him," Pearl said. "80 percent is a significant number. We've played four games without him and one with him. So any time you get guys back, it does change your chemistry and locations. His learning curve is going to be affected. It's not so much where to be as far as our plays are concerned, but probably more on the defensive side where he had a lot of room to grow."

Tigers lead Iron Bowl behind explosive first half effort

After a turnover on the first possession of the game, Auburn's offense responded in a big way by outgaining Alabama 383-178 in yards on its way to a 26-21-halftime lead. After winning the coin toss and electing to receive, Roc Thomas fumbled a swing pass on the first offensive play of the game. This is the third time this season Auburn has opened the game with a turnover on their first possession.
