An Auburn student, 20-year-old Jess Erwin Ralston, from Auburn, has been charged with third-degree assault, police said, after attacking a 58-year-old female Lyft driver in the 200 block of West Longleaf Drive.
University Program Council hosted their annual Homecoming concert on the Green Space, and fans from all over the state came to The Plains wearing their cowboy boots, Stetsons and jean skirts.
“There’s kids and families facing tough situations, scary situations. ... I would really love to come in at that moment and point them to a hope that’s greater than modern medicine — a hope in a heavenly father that loves them,” Nichols said.
“I wanted to be a part of the organization to help students to realize that getting involved is not scary or difficult. It can be a fun way to connect with other students who have similar interests,” said Involvement Ambassador Jordan Cotney.
“Our major change we want to make is to make Auburn University the most environmentally sound and sustainable campus as possible,” said Dalton Nelson, president of EAC and senior in agriscience education and agriculture science.
"We aren’t going in as outsiders,” Melillo said. “But we are going in and listening to what, ultimately, they want out of these projects that we are helping them with.”
“This is a great stepping stone to creating every football game throughout the season to be a Green Game," Duncan said. "We want fans to take the Green Game as a learning experience and come back with the same teaching tools to recycle at every Auburn football game.”
Tiger Dining and Auburn Athletics are working to do as much as possible to curb the effects of the heat starting this weekend by bringing 10,000 bottles of water into the student section.
By bringing a refillable water bottle on campus and using the Weagle water stations, students can on average save $2 at each meal. Students can also grab take-out boxes at almost every spot to eat to save leftovers for later.
“It’s great having 130 friends that I can chat with at any time about any sort of powerlifting thing that I want to because one of the biggest things is that I always seem to bore my friends who don’t lift when I talk about it with them,” Riedel said.
“I really hope that students can do more than just say I want to vote for the blue one," Zinner said. "I want them to actually take a look at the names, the platforms."
“While he might be right now, because there is an election coming, he hasn’t been for the other seven months of this year," Hagan said.
“Most of the time when students are referred to us, I am actively reaching out to them to say ‘Hey, someone told me about what happened, so how can I help, what’s going on?’” Walters said.

Eaton, senior in psychology from Mobile, will spend the week of campaigns focusing on three main points that she feels cover a wide range of student issues.
“I am super excited about it,” Argo said. “My platform is related to Project Uplift, which is a mentor program on Auburn University’s campus.”
Moore, senior in public relations from Atlanta, said she would like to keep the conversation about sexual assault going.
As a first-generation college student, her campaign for Miss Homecoming focuses on making sure high-school students know they have a place in higher education.
