Miss America to speak at Auburn on Nov. 16

Miss America 2016, Betty Cantrell, will speak to students about her platform " Healthy Children, Strong America" at Auburn University on Nov. 16. This event will feature Miss Alabama, Meg McGuffin, fourth runner-up to Miss America 2016, and Miss Auburn University Susanna Bagwell. McGuffin will open the event and speak about her platform, "Healthy is The New Skinny".

Jay Gogue addresses nationwide campus protests in email

"We would be remiss if we did not take this opportunity to initiate a constructive dialogue about diversity and inclusion," Gogue wrote. "I believe we must constantly ask ourselves if we as a campus community are living the core values we espouse and whether our culture as a place for learning is one that is built on mutual respect and support."

Man’s best friend joins counseling services

He’ll lie at someone’s feet if he senses anger or rest his head in someone’s lap and offer a paw if he sees tears, but he also knows to give people space when they need it. Moose, a 7-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever, works as a full-time therapy dog alongside his principal handler Katherine Werner, licensed staff psychologist, at the University’s Student Counseling Services. Moose served as a bomb detection dog with Auburn University Canine Performance Sciences until he retired in May, Werner said.
