"I didn't even know what was happening," Dean said. "I didn't know what the team was doing postgame with the silly string. I was thinking it was alright to celebrate, but we have won before. Then they informed me. It was a pretty cool moment."
Auburn split Sunday's doubleheader against Florida as the Tigers won the first game 10-8 before falling 6-4 in the second game.
“We made some mistakes early on,” said head coach Mickey Dean. “Tonight, we didn’t play good defense to give us an opportunity to stay in the game or even win the game. We had bad pitches in 0-2 and 1-2 counts. We just didn’t play well enough.”
Despite seven innings from starting pitcher Jack Owen and a game-tying home run from Ryan Bliss, the Tigers could not complete the comeback against Florida on Friday night. A pair of runs in the ninth inning propelled Florida to a 4-2 victory, extending the Gators’ win streak to seven.
“They had opportunities, we had opportunities,” said Auburn head coach Mickey Dean. “In eight innings, they had one hit with a runner in scoring position. That’s the difference in the ballgame.”

4-star shooting guard Trey Alexander has decided to re-open his recruitment and decommit from Auburn.

Despite a five-game winning streak, Auburn soccer did not receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Auburn ends the season 10-5-3.

According to players and coaches, Auburn's defense was supposed to be the best part of the Tigers' overall team heading into the annual A-Day scrimmage. By the end of the game, it became clear why the defense has earned that praise.
