Auburn man arrested for burglary, theft of property

The arrest is the result of an investigation by Auburn Police into a burglary that occurred in the 100 Block of North College Street on May 9, according to a press release. Officers responded to the business to discover that someone had forced entry inside while it was closed and stole an undetermined amount of U.S. currency.

Trash Amnesty Week happening now

The week of May 16 - 20 is Trash Amnesty Week, according to the City of Auburn website.  Fees normally assessed for the collection of over-sized yard debris and other bulky waste will be waived.  Residents are asked to pay close attention to the following guidelines when placing items out for collection: Debris should be placed at the curb no later than 6:00 a.m.

Rally aims to promote peace

In lieu of the recent violence in their community, Stop the Violence rally organizer Pamela Pitts and Sandra Hall want to promote peace in their communities. "We want to just discourage violent acts and promote more love," Pitts said.
