Auburn-Opelika area named Alabama's drunkest city

The 24/7 Wall St., a financial news and opinion website, released the latest rankings of the drunkest city in each state, and the Auburn-Opelika area claimed the title for Alabama. The rankings are based on the percentage of people in each city who are binge or heavy drinkers, which was 17.8 percent, in relation to the same criteria statewide, which was 12.2 percent.

November has left The Plains, and that can only mean one thing — No-Shave November has come to a close. As men all over Auburn’s campus dust off their razors and prepare for the return of baby face, some can’t bear to let go of what has become a part of them during the past 30 days.

Update on professor’s research

Current information and clarification is available on an article that was originally brought up on the College of Business website and then published on the Auburn University home page. Joe McAdory, communications editor of the College of Business, published an article for the College of Business website on September 15. The article, “MRI scans reveal if nutritional labeling impacts consumer choices,” deals with the research of Brian Bourdeau, associate professor of marketing. The article was then published on the Auburn University home page on October 2 with the guidance of Charles Martin, communications editor of the Office of Communications and Marketing, according to Mike Clardy, interim assistant vice president and director of university communications.

Research shows a plan to combat climate change

Three numbers — two, 565 and 2,975. Two degrees is the threshold for dangerous climate change. Five hundred sixty- five gigatons is the amount of carbon dioxide that can be safely released in the atmosphere to stay under two degrees. Two thousand nine hundred seventy-five gigatons is the amount of carbon dioxide that would be released if the U.S. burned all the fossil fuel reserves discovered, according to “Keep it in the ground,” a campaign by The Guardian.
