Man charged with car break-in, theft of property

Auburn police have arrested Brandon T. Jones-Rogers, 24, of Auburn and charged him with unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and second-degree theft of property, according to a news release issued by the Auburn Police Division. APD responded to a call of a car break-in at an apartment complex at the 300 block of Opelika Road at approximately 3 a.m. Officers were given a description of an individual seen pulling door handles and entering unlocked vehicles, according to the release.

Hormel recalls Skippy peanut butter in several states, including Alabama

Hormel Foods has voluntarily recalled 153 cases, meaning 1,871, pounds of Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter because of the possibility that some jars contain small metal shavings, according to a news release issued by the company. The company recalled the peanut butter in Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arkansas and Delaware.

Alabama and Taiwan Sign Agreement to Recognize Driver's Licenses

On Friday October 16th 2015, representatives of The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency met with representatives from the government of Taiwan, to sign an agreement for the mutual recognition of Driver’s Licenses in Alabama and Taiwan. Spencer Collier, The Alabama Secretary of Law Enforcement, and Kay Ivey, Alabama’s Lieutenant Governor, met with Huei-Yuan Tai, the Director General of the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Atlanta, to sign the agreement. "We are pleased to collaborate with Taiwan on this plan to streamline the exchange of valid non-commercial driver licenses for the citizens of Alabama who may be living in Taiwan and for the people of Taiwan who may be living in our state,” Secretary Collier said. The agreement benefits Alabama by supporting business investments between Alabama and Taiwan.
