Jason Smith might see snaps at QB

With quarterback Jeremy Johnson struggling, Auburn might be forced to look at other options to lead the team going forward. When asked if receiver Jason Smith could see snaps as a wildcat quarterback, Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee replied, “Anything’s possible.” Whether the answer served as filler or foreshadowing, Smith has experience at the quarterback position, where Auburn has struggled mightily this season. Smith played his high school football at McGill-Toolen High School, where his senior season saw him rack up 35 touchdowns (19 passing, 16 rushing) and 2,415 yards of offense.

The Golloway experiment was doomed from the start

Sunny Golloway is gone. His two years here had become a melting pot of emotions: exciting, disappointing, promising, and ultimately wasted. When he was hired in June of 2013, a energizing jolt got sent through the veins of the Auburn program. The Tigers had been to the NCAA Tournament just twice in the 10 years prior to Golloway’s hiring.

Men's tennis completes second event of fall season

Auburn competes in its second event of the fall season, sending four Tigers to the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational being played this weekend at the Ken Byars Tennis Complex in Atlanta.  Four Auburn players will compete in both singles and doubles, which starts on Friday and concludes on Sunday: senior Joseph Van Dooren, freshman Max Sivalls, sophomore transfer Edward Nguyen and sophomore Viboosh Chandrasekar.  "I would like to see someone step up this weekend and play well for us," said Auburn head coach Eric Shore, who was happy with how the Auburn delegation played in last weekend's Duke Bonk Invitational, winning 17 of 21 matches.
