Red-hot Women’s Basketball team ready to make noise at SEC Tournament

Auburn (12-17, 3-13 SEC) enters the SEC Tournament on fire as winners of three straight games. They are set to take on the Florida Gators (13-16, 5-11 SEC) led by freshman phenom Haley Lorenzen on Wednesday, March 4, at the Verizon Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Each year, there’s a team that shocks the nation and makes a Cinderella run into the NCAA Tournament.

Auburn gymnastics’ Caitlin Atkinson, MJ Rott earn weekly honors

After a record win vs. No. 10 Georgia, Auburn gymnastics’ Caitlin Atkinson and MJ Rott earned SEC Gymnast and SEC Specialist of the Week honors, respectively. Atkinson set a program record with a 39.675 all-around score, which included a career-high 9.975 on floor and 9.900 on vault, bars and beam to win SEC Gymnast of the Week honors. MJ Rott won SEC Specialist of the Week for the second time this season with a program record 9.975 on vault and a career-high 9.950 on floor. Atkinson’s all-around title was her fifth straight, giving her 41 titles in her Auburn career. Individually, Atkinson is ranked 15th nationally in all-around, and Rott is ranked 19th in vault. Men finish 9th, women 11th at 2015 SEC Indoor Championships

The Auburn men’s track and field team finished ninth at the 2015 SEC Track and Field Championships while the Tiger women finished 11th. The Tigers sat in third and fourth respectively, but struggled on the second day of competition.

Men's basketball drops fourth straight at Texas A&M

The Auburn men’s basketball team lost its fourth consecutive game Saturday in College Station Texas, where the Tigers fell 80-55 against Texas A&M. With Antoine Mason missing the game after his father’s passing, leading scorer KT Harrell scored 18 points but was the only Tiger in double digits.

Mason continues to play through father’s ailments

Things have not gone as planned for Antoine Mason in his first season on the Plains. The nation’s leading returning scorer after averaging 25.6 points per game at Niagara last season, Mason sprained an ankle in his first game as a Tiger, forcing him to miss the next six games. Once he was able to play, Mason wasn’t at full speed.
