Baylor ends season for women’s doubles pair

Auburn doubles partners Pleun Burgmans and Emily Flickinger fell 6-1, 6-2 to Baylor in the opening round of the NCAA Championships Thursday, May 21. “Pleun and Emily both had great seasons,” Auburn head coach Lauren Longbotham Meisner said.

Ollert ends singles career in first round of NCAA Championships

Men's Tennis senior Lukas Ollert lost Wednesday in the opening round to Tulane’s Domenik Koepfer at the NCAA Championships, bringing Ollert’s outstanding singles career to a close. Ollert’s first set was a close 7-6 loss, and Koepfner, ranked among the tournament’s top 16 seeds, carried momentum into the second set, winning 6-2.

Tigers scratch the Wildcats, advance in SEC Tournament

Auburn baseball stepped up to the plate Tuesday in its first SEC Tournament game since 2013, walking away victors after facing the Kentucky Wildcats. Sophomore Cole Lipscomb had a quality start and successful day on the mound through 7.2 innings, and recording nine strikeouts and a 2.38 ERA, allowing only four hits and two earned runs in 107 pitches.

Graba named top 10 gymnastics coach in the nation

 On Tuesday, CollegeAD.com named three-time SEC Coach of the Year Jeff Graba, who led Auburn to the NCAA Championship Super Six this season for the first time in 22 years, one of the top 10 women’s gymnastics head coaches in the country. Auburn broke or tied 52 program records this year as junior Caitlin Atkinson and seniors Megan Walker and Bri Guy were named All-Americans, and six others earned All-SEC honors.

Lipscomb named to All-SEC team

Tigers’ right-handed pitcher Cole Lipscomb was named to the All-SEC second team, the SEC announced Monday, May 18. Lipscomb is the first Auburn pitcher named to the All-SEC first or second team since Steven Register in 2004. “This is a great honor for Cole,” coach Sunny Golloway said.

Men’s golf qualifies for NCAA Championship for 4th-straight season

The No. 7 men’s golf team jumped from seventh to fourth place with a 4-under 280 in the final round of the NCAA Lubbock Regional on Saturday, May 16, to earn their fourth-straight ticket to the NCAA Championship. The Tigers, who were one shot off the cutline after the second round, finished the final two holes 2-under to advance to the NCAA Championship in Bradenton, Florida Friday, May 29, to Wednesday,June 3. “It was a stressful day and kind of up and down,” coach Nick Clinard said.
