Auburn Starting safety Jermaine Whitehead did not make the trip to Kansas State with the team for Thursday night's game against the Wildcats. According to Jay Tate of Auburnsports.com, Whitehead did not board the bus to Columbus, Ga., with the rest of the team on Wednesday. Whitehead has been an impact player for the Tigers this year, with two interceptions in two games, including a pick-six against Arkansas. Nothing is known about why Whitehead didn't make the trip , or his future with the team.
"How are we going to respond to adversity?" is going to be answered Thursday night on the road at Kansas State, according to offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee. Both Lashlee and defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson said this road matchup will be a test that will show where this year's team is at after a 2-0 start.
