AU teams up with IBM on cybersecurity

Auburn University is collaborating with IBM on cybersecurity research to improve systems that can be used for outreach.   “Imagine cybersecurity is becoming one of the top threats of the world,” said Anthony Skjellum, professor of computer science and software engineering and the lead cyber scientist for Auburn.

Six-story building planned for outside moratorium boundary

A new six-story development is in the works outside the apartment moratorium boundary. The design of The Parker was submitted to the Auburn Board of Zoning Adjustment at the April 1 meeting. The developers, CA Ventures, presented the plans to the board to request a variance requiring buildings built in the Urban Core District to be built out of brick with accents of stucco, limestone or wood. The board denied the variance request in a 3-2 vote.

Justin and Shawn Williams of Salem, decided they would be trailblazers as they walked up to Lee County Courthouse on Monday, Feb. 8, planning to get their marriage license after being together for seven years. At the courthouse, they found Lee County Probate Judge Bill English was refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
