The Commodores swept Auburn 10-5 and 7-6 in a Saturday doubleheader, picking up a series win after allowing Auburn to win their first conference game the previous day.
Kyler Deese only went collected one hit in four at-bats Friday night, March 20, but that one hit was enormous. Faced with the bases loaded, two outs, and one of the country’s best pitchers in Carson Fulmer on the mound, Deese hit a rocket into left field, clearing the bases and giving Auburn a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
Auburn defeated UAB 6-4 Tuesday evening, March 17, at Regions Field in Birmingham. Keegan Thompson started at first base and recorded an RBI triple in his first at-bat of the season in the second inning.

No. 6 Texas A&M defeated Auburn 10-4 in the second game of the weekend series Saturday, March 14, at Blue Bell Park in College Station, Texas. Center fielder Anfernee Grier finished 3-for-4 in his 10th multi-hit game of the season. Auburn pitcher Rocky McCord took the loss.

Jordan Ebert extended his reached-base streak to 18 games after he singled and walked twice. Auburn pitcher Keegan Thompson allowed six runs on 10 hits, struck out four batters and walked four in 6-plus innings. Auburn (13-5) scored early on an RBI single from first baseman Daniel Robert, but the Aggies took a 4-1 lead in the second inning after Hunter Melton hit a grand slam off Thompson. The Tigers scored once more in the fourth inning after catcher Blake Logan knocked in shortstop Cody Nulph with an RBI double. Texas A&M (19-0) extended their lead in bottom of the eighth as Melton hit a two-run double to make the final score 6-2. Auburn and Texas A&M will square off in game two of the series Saturday, March 14, at 4 p.m.
With his Auburn squad sitting at 13-4 heading into conference play, coach Sunny Golloway said he feels his team is ready to get into the thick of the season. “We’re excited to be going to Texas A&M and excited to be starting conference play,” Golloway said during Wednesday’s teleconference.
Derek Thompson Sports Reporter Samford takes down Auburn at home In-state opponent Samford defeated Auburn 6-0 Tuesday, March 10 at Plainsman Park. It was all Samford (5-8) as the Tigers committed six errors, gave up three unearned runs and couldn’t get the bats going against Bulldog’s pitcher Parker Curry. Curry picked up the win after the junior gave up only five hits, allowed zero runs, no walks and recorded seven strikeouts through eight innings. “We looked at the pitch count,” said head coach Sunny Golloway.

For nearly four hours, Auburn and Xavier were neck-and-neck. But in the 11th inning, reserve infielder Melvin Gray dribbled a single up the middle, and the throw went wide, scoring Jordan Ebert from second base to give Auburn a walkoff win. “I just had a gut feeling about Melvin,” head coach Sunny Golloway said.
Auburn faced Xavier on Sunday, March 8, in the final game of a weekend long series between the Tigers and the Musketeers.
Auburn (11-3) picked up its ninth win in its last ten games with a 7-2 win over Xavier (4-7) Friday at Plainsman Park. Auburn catcher Blake Logan’s triple off Xavier’s Brad Kirschner, who has allowed only one run all season, sealed the victory in the first ever meeting between the two teams. The Tigers already had a 3-0 lead when Auburn’s Jackson Burgreen singled on a bunt to load the bases in the bottom of the fifth for Logan to clear the bases with a shot to left-center and make it 6-1. The Tigers’ first three points came early. Junior Cody Nulph, who had three hits on the day, hit a two-run single in the bottom of the first inning to put the Tigers on the board and junior Alex Polston scored on a sac fly from sophomore Damon Haecker in the second inning. Another Tiger run scored in the seventh inning from a sophomore J.J.
For the sixth time in seven years, the Auburn Tigers took down rival Alabama in a nonconference game in Montgomery, winning 5-3 behind a stellar pitching performance from Keegan Thompson. Thompson pitched 7.1 innings, allowing three runs and striking out 12 to pick up his second win of the season.
The sophomore’s hot streak at the plate was a big factor in the Tiger’s 3-1 record and big wins over No. 27 Georgia Tech on Tuesday, Feb. 24, and No. 10 Oklahoma State on Saturday, Feb. 28.
The Auburn Tigers took on the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on Sunday, March 1. The Tigers scored nine runs but ended up losing the game 10-9. The Tigers captured the lead early getting three runs in the first.
“(This win) was definitely a confidence booster for us,” said outfielder Anfernee Grier. “It shows we can hang with the elite programs in the country.”
Auburn’s baseball team continued to come through in the clutch in late innings as they defeated Jacksonville State 6-4, Friday, Feb.
Since coach Sunny Golloway’s second season began, he’s preached to the team about adversity and toughness.
