Haecker homers in mid-week victory over Florida A&M

Johnson named starting quarterback for next season

Following an impressive spring practice season, rising junior Jeremy Johnson was named Auburn’s starting quarterback for the 2015 season Monday afternoon by coach Gus Malzahn, confirming what had been suspected for a few months. We just named Jeremy Johnson our starting QB for 2015.

Johnson, Starting Team earn 'A' for the day

In front of a crowd of 62,000, Auburn’s A Day game provided a solid prediction of how the fall would unfold for the Tigers, making apparent strides both offensively and on defense. With 225 passing yards and two touchdowns, junior Jeremy Johnson took the spotlight as quarterback for this year’s scrimmage and led the starting team to a 24-14 win. Sean White at QB made for a few short completed passes, but no play action made the top highlights above Johnson.

Jeremy Johnson shines on A-Day

After two seasons of sitting behind Nick Marshall, Jeremy Johnson has had plenty of time to hone his skills behind closed doors. Fans got a chance to see how capable Johnson is of leading the offense in the first half against Arkansas in 2014, when Marshall was suspended, but Johnson was still always going to be the backup. Now as the presumed starter, Johnson will have no trouble at all leading the team if his play during A-Day is any indication. Johnson attempted 22 passes—all in the first half—and connected on 14, for 252 yards and a pair of scores, leading Team Auburn to a 24-14 win.

Roc-solid effort in running back competition

In the race for running back, Saturday’s A Day scrimmage highlighted the likes of Roc Thomas, who carried for 62 yards and made the game’s first touchdown run under quarterback Jeremy Johnson. “I think I did pretty well,” Thomas said.

Former starting QB finds new home

Jonathan Wallace has seen it all during his time on the Plains. From starting quarterback on a 3-9 team in 2012 to a backup on an SEC championship team, Wallace has moved down the line of scrimmage and become a wide receiver in his final year. “It was really a personal decision for me,” Wallace said.

Equestrian jumps Texas A&M, advances to NCEA Championship semifinals

In an upset for the Aggies, No. 5 Auburn Equestrian triumphed 9-6 in Waco, Texas and will proceed to the semifinals Saturday morning at 8:30, starting with a meet against the Georgia Bulldogs. “We were strong against Georgia at SECs in western and the way our hunt seat kids are riding, we should be in good shape tomorrow.” Head coach Greg Williams said.

Softball shutout at home by Tide

After a thirty-minute rain delay, a sold out crowd watched as the Crimson Tide defeated the Tigers on their home field, 6-0 in the first game of the rivalry series, Aril 17. Although the Tigers were able to make bat-to-ball contact throughout the game, no runs came from Auburn as Bama took the victory with six, including three homeruns.

Auburn gymnastics advances to NCAA Super Six

For only the second time in program history, No. 8 Auburn gymnastics advanced to the NCAA Super Six by placing third in their semifinal with a 197.075, a program record score at Nationals and the sixth-highest score in program history.
