Clint Myers speaks to OLLI group about learning

Clint Myers, Auburn’s head softball coach, spoke to members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center on Tuesday, September 30th. Myers spoke about how “greatness is a way of life.” “The idea that greatness is a way of life is a 24/7 belief.

Beat Bama Food Drive partners with Parking Services

This year, Beat Bama Food Drive decided to take it a step further by partnering with Parking Services. “We want to encourage students to donate and get as many cans as possible,” said Sarah Perez, president of Beat Bama Food Drive. “But we also want students to be aware of the poverty in our area.”

New Block Seating system receives mixed reviews

This football season, SGA’s Organizational Seating Program introduced a new block seating system in Jordan-Hare Stadium. It is a “competitive, academic incentive-based system used to promote and determine reserved organizational seating at football games,” according to Brock Hendon, co-director of Organizational Seating Program. John Headlee, co-director of Organizational Seating Program, said he is happy with the results of block seating following the first game. “We are very pleased with how block seating is operating so far,” said Headlee.

Come Home to the Corner continues

The City of Auburn recently implemented the idea of a continuous Come Home to the Corner celebration. The original event, which took place in August, was a night honoring the re-opening of Toomer’s Corner downtown after months on construction. The opening was such a hit that it was decided to continue every Friday night before a home football game.
