Basketball ranked second nationally for home attendance increase

The NCAA announced on Monday, July 6, that Auburn Basketball is ranked second nationally in Division I average home attendance increase, with a spike of 2,002, its largest in 15 years. “I want to thank the Auburn Family, students and alumni for their support this past season,” Bruce Pearl said.

Mason and Gabriel to join Harrell in NBA Summer League

Two more former Tigers will be participating in NBA Summer League play after it was announced All-SEC guard KT Harrell will play with the Philadelphia 76ers. Guard Antoine Mason will join the Orlando Magic and forward Kenny Gabriel will begin play with the Miami Heat. Mason and Gabriel will both play Saturday in the Orlando Pro Summer League beginning with the Heat facing the Indiana Pacers at 8 a.m., followed by the Magic against the Detroit Pistons at 10 a.m.

Schlottmann to make PGA Tour debut at Barbasol Championship

Tigers' rising sophomore All-American Ben Schlottman will join two former Tigers, Blayne Barber and Patton Kizzire as he makes his PGA Tour debut with a sponsor’s exemption in The Barbasol at Grand National’s Lake Course  July 16-19 . “I was really excited,” Schlottman said when he received the phone call.

Swim and dive releases 2015-16 schedule

Five home events including dual meets with Arkansas, Florida State, Indiana and Wisconsin highlight the 2015-16 Auburn swimming and diving schedule, head coach Brett Hawke announced Wednesday. “We’re excited to add Arkansas, Florida State and Wisconsin to our schedule for 2015-16,” Hawke said.

Patton Kizzire joins Barbasol Championship

Former Auburn golfer Patton Kizzire has been named to the Barbasol Championship field. The 2008 graduate accepted a sponsor exemption to play in the tournament and will be hosting a public event during play with the Southeastern Raptor Center.

Tigers will play Oregon in 2019 AdvoCare Classic

The Tigers will play Oregon in the 2019 AdvoCare Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday, August 31, 2019, in a rematch of the 2011 BCS National Championship game. “I’m thrilled that Auburn will face Oregon in an epic match-up of two elite programs on a big stage to open the 2019 season,” Auburn Director of Athletics Jay Jacobs said.

Auburn SEC Takeover Schedule Released

Wednesday, July 1, the Tigers and Bruce Pearl will begin their 24-hour takeover of the SEC Network.  With the help of Pearl, the Tigers have selected 10 unforgettable events in Auburn history to re-live with fans.  Programming will also include two ESPN Films centered around Auburn royalty Bo Jackson, as well as the SEC Stories chronicling the athletic powerhouse built by Jackson, Charles Barkley and Frank Thomas in the 1980s. “The Auburn day on the SEC Network is a great opportunity to showcase all the moments and students that have made Auburn great,” Director of Athletics, Jay Jacobs said.

Former Auburn player passes Friday

As pronounced Friday afternoon, June 26, former Auburn football player, James Kiger has passed.  According to Alabama State Trooper Kevin Cook, James Kiger was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Dale County when he struck a guardrail and overturned off the roadway.

Softball coaching staff named NFCA's best in Southeast

After leading the Auburn softball team to its best season in program history and its first appearance ever in the Women’s College World Series, the coaching staff was recognized today by the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association as the Southeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year.

Fishing team seeks recognition for success

Being a part of the SEC, Auburn is nationally known for its football, basketball and softball teams, especially with these programs’ success. However, Auburn is home to more sports teams than students are even aware of. One of these programs is the fishing team. Fishing has been around at Auburn for about seven years, according to Lucas Brown, senior in mechanical engineering and member of the team.
