Auburn women’s tennis beats ranked SEC opponent

Auburn’s women’s tennis team took on the 18th ranked Kentucky Wildcats Sunday in the Tiger’s ninth SEC match. Auburn’s first point came by way of doubles as senior Emily Flickenger and junior Pleun Burgmans were able to win on court one 8-3. Juniors Paula de Man and Michala Kucharova won on court two in a close match that ended 8-7 (7-3). In singles, the Tigers captured three points while giving up only one. Burgmans won 6-4, 6-1 on court one while sophomore Reka Muller had a big win on court 4 over the Wildcats 121st ranked Mami Adachi.

Auburn women’s tennis falls to Texas A&M

The Auburn women’s tennis team lost to Texas A&M 4-0 on Friday in the Tigers’ sixth SEC match of the season. Due to bad weather in the College Station, the women only played singles. The 30th ranked Aggies won four out of six of the singles matches including wins on courts one, two, four and six. Auburn junior Pleun Burgmans lost 6-3 6-4 on court one while freshman Andie Dikosavljevic lost 6-2 7-5 on the second court. Seniors Emily Flickenger and Jen Pfeifler lost on courts four and six to finish the day. The Tigers have lost their last three SEC matches, and will need a win in Baton Rouge Sunday, Mar.

Auburn’s women’s tennis beats Tennessee

Auburn’s women’s tennis team defeated Tennessee Friday, March 6, in the Tigers’ first home SEC match of the season. The team defeated the Lady Volunteers 4-0 en route to their first SEC victory. Second courts doubles team, sophomore Reka Muller and senior Jen Pfeifler finished first with an 8-5 win. Juniors Paula De Man and Michala Kucharova won their doubles match despite trailing 7-2.
